This is the birthplace of the American poet, Walt Whitman. It is located in Huntington, Long Island, NY. I like visiting author's houses, if you haven't noticed! ;) (taken 07/08).

This plaque is located in the garden of Walt Whitman's birthplace. It welcomes poets who visit there as writers-in-residence. I found inspiration in the quote during my visit, too! Whitman inspires many writers. (taken 07/08).

I had this salad for lunch outside at a restaurant in Southampton, Long Island--the town where so many celebrities live in "the Hamptons." I thought it was so pretty, I took a picture of it! (taken 07/08).
